Pre-School
Welcome from 3 years to 5 years.
Here, the children are experimenting with the use of colours, numbers, sounds and various arts and crafts. These encourage their creative, emotional, social and physical development. At this stage we also prepare them for the Montessori Method of teaching, through “practical life” activities.
Pre-Schooler’s world opens up in new ways as children improve coordination, learn complex games, and begin to interact more with their peers. Our Preschool classroom environment introduces language, math, science and social skills in a logical, natural sequence to encourage learning one step at a time. Our pre-school team of staff also provides plenty of individual attention to support your child’s unique needs.
To ensure every day is a great day for your child, staff create activities that combine both learning and fun. Our curriculum is organized into theme-based ,beginning with topics most familiar to children. As children develop their skills and confidence, our teachers address more complex topics.
Each theme incorporates language, mathematics, science, creative arts, music, motor skills, and social development.
Group time is also an integral part of your preschooler’s day, when your child learns to enhance his or her social skills. Our teachers invite your child to listen, share, take turns, cooperate, demonstrate curiosity, and give and receive feedback. These social development skills support your preschooler’s ability to flourish in a classroom environment and demonstrate new learning—while having fun!
Daily activities develop reading and writing skills and introduce important literacy concepts. We use high-quality children’s literature to promote a love of reading.
Children are introduced to the rich world of numbers, including sorting, grouping, and counting, as well as more advanced math skills.
Children display their abundant creativity through dramatic play, music, and art. Creative activity develops imagination and independence, and fosters confidence.
Children develop their large motor skills, such as running, jumping, throwing, and kicking. They also practice coordination skills needed for writing, drawing, cutting, and other activities.
The above activities ensure that the child’s physical, emotional, social, linguistic and intellectual needs are met, thus supporting the holistic development of each individual child. This will support when moving from toddler hood into childhood.
